Welcome to Tours by Luca

I was born in Catania on Sicily's eastern coast and I currently live in Francavilla di Sicilia, a small village near Taormina surrounded by lemon trees and vineyards — halfway between the sea and the slopes of Mount Etna. Growing up between the volcano and the Ionian Sea shaped my deep love for this island and everything it offers.

After earning my accounting diploma in 1999 and serving in the Italian Army, I spent years working in hospitality — as a barman, pastry chef, and waiter. A turning point came when I met Sebastiano, the owner of a tourist transportation company in Taormina. I joined his team and spent 15 years welcoming travellers to Sicily, primarily guests from the United States, and guiding them through the landscapes, food, history, and culture of this extraordinary island.

Those years on the road taught me something important: what people remember about a trip to Sicily is rarely a monument or a museum. It's the taste of a glass of Etna wine in a family cellar, the silence of a medieval hilltop village at golden hour, the warmth of a conversation with a local — moments that only happen when you travel with someone who truly knows the place.

When the pandemic arrived, I obtained my official tour guide license and founded Tours by Luca with one clear mission: to offer authentic, tailor-made private tours of Sicily, created with passion and personal care — not as a product, but as an experience worth remembering for a lifetime.
